Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed Neymar suffered a sprained ankle and a fractured metatarsal in their win over Marseille.

The Brazilian was stretchered off in PSG’s 3-0 win against Olympic Marseille at the Parc des Princes on Sunday.

Former Barcelona frontman Neymar was tracking back behind Bouna Sarr in the second half when his right ankle awkwardly twisted, leaving him in agony on the turf.

The injury is almost certain to rule the former Barcelona star out of the Champions League last-16 second leg against Real Madrid.

And it may leave him with a race against time to be ready for the World Cup in Russia this summer.
