Mohamed Salah insists he’s happy at Liverpool amid growing talk of Real Madrid’s interest in the forward.
Salah has hit a staggering 28 goals in 34 appearances in his debut season at Liverpool, and a move to the Bernabeu continue to look very likely after every stellar performance.
When asked if he watched La Liga, he said: “Yes, I follow it, I see some games.
“Not always, because sometimes they coincide with Liverpool fixtures, of course. It’s a good league, has top teams, and the way they play is very attractive.”
When pressed if he’d like to play in Spain one day, he added: “At the moment I am here. I want to concentrate on my team and finish the season very well.”
And then when pressed directly on the Real Madrid rumours – including comments from Egypt boss Hector Cuper and Real president Florentino Perez – Salah reluctantly asked;
“Why do you think they say these things?” “I don’t have much to say about that. If I have to say something, I’ll say I’m happy at Liverpool.”
The Egyptian is however bent on over-taking Tottenham’s Harry Kane – who is currently on 22 league goals this season.
“He (Kane) is a great player,” he said. “In the last two years he has already been the top scorer.
“Kane plays as a No.9 and has more chances to score goals than me. In my mind I want to win it, but we will see what happens.”
