Antonio Conte was unimpressed with Arsene Wenger‘s criticism of referee Anthony Taylor in the aftermath of Chelsea‘s 1-1 draw against
Arsenal and suggested the Frenchman who last won the league title in 2003/2004 season should focus on winning trophies again as he did in the past.
‘I think that if Arsene watched the game again, understand that it was very lucky – he will understand he was very lucky with referee decisions,’ Conte said ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup clash with Norwich.
‘I don’t like to speak about another coach or other players. I think it’s a form of respect you must have.
‘Sometimes, they forget that in the last few games we finished the game with 10 men in the FA Cup and Community Shield and I think the referee decision was a bit strange.
‘When we were 2-1 and the defender is landing to take the ball, I think it was a great chance to score but instead the referee stopped the game.
‘If I want, I can talk about referee decisions for one month but I don’t want to do this out of respect.
‘It’s not good, he has to accept the decisions, he’s an old coach, he has a lot of experience, he has won a lot. He has to continue to do what he did in the past.’
