STATS SHOW THAT WAYNE ROONEY IS CURRENTLY THE MOST PROLIFIC STRIKER IN EUROPE’S TOP FLIGHTS.

Posted on Posted in English premier league

New Opta stats reveal that Rooney’s shot conversion rate is actually significantly higher than anyone else in Europe’s top five leagues, out-performing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi and Lewandowski.

Former England captain, Rooney has lead the Tofees’ resurgent since Sam Allardyce was appointed the manager at Everton.

Rooney has netted five times in his last four games for the Toffees.

In fact, since that 5-1 Europa League drubbing at the hands of Atalanta, Everton have won four of their five outings, with the other being a battling 1-1 draw in the Merseyside derby with Liverpool where Rooney equally scored.

With a conversion rate of 37.5 per cent, Rooney is more accurate than Monaco’s Radamel Falcao and Real Betis’s Antomio Sanabria, who share the second-highest ranking with 33.33 per cent.

Data from Opta. Shot conversion rate based on goals and shots goalbound blocked by a defender. Stats only apply for players with 20 or more shots on goal.
