Manchester United’s under-23s were relegated from the top division of Premier League Two on Monday despite not being in action on the night.

Ricky Sbragia’s team were relegated following Derby’s 1-0 win over West Ham. A game which moved the young Reds to the base of the table with one game remaining.

It’s been a disappointing season for the U23s who has won just 4 of their 21 matches this season, with a return of a meagre 19 points.

This is a huge setback to a club that is so famous with its youth system.

A major issue which the Old Trafford hierarchy will address in the summer.
