Former Brazil defender Roberto Carlos says his compatriot Neymar will have to be content with the third spot in the World’s best player award, as long as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are still on the scene.
Neymar couldn’t usurp Messi as the best in Barca, not to talk of beating him or Ronaldo as the best in the world; so he had to leave for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, and has scored 26 goals in 29 appearances this season for the Parisian club.
“I think he did well to sign at PSG”; Carlos said.
“To be the best in the world he had to leave Barca because there is Messi.
“Even if he must be aware that, as long as Messi and Ronaldo are in form, he will have to settle for third place.”
