Henrikh Mkhitaryan is staying behind after training to help Arsenal’s strikers, it has been revealed.
The Armenian thrived at United during his first year in England as he helped Mourinho’s men to the Europa and league Cup double. He however suffered a deep in form in the current season and was shipped to Arsenal while Alexis Sanchez moved to Manchester United.
The midfielder has also linked up with former Borussia Dortmund team-mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who moved to Arsenal for a club record £56million shortly after Mkhitaryan.
The pair started together against Everton last weekend and put in a blistering display as the Gunners emphatically won 5-1 with the Armenian making a record hat trick of assists.
Rumours has circulated that the 29-year-old stays behind after Arsenal training to help out in the striker’s drills.
When asked about those rumours in his pre-match press conference, Wenger responded: “He has a very professional attitude and overall I think that is what you want from every player.
“I am not surprised about that because I find that absolutely normal.”
